Tim Borchers Earns His CTFA Becoming a Certified Trust Advisor

In Team News & Community Involvement

We’re pleased to announce that our firm’s founder, Tim Borchers, Esq., EPLS, AEP®, Partner, recently received his Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) certification from the American Bankers Association.

For Tim, it was important to further his professional expertise in the fields of wealth and finance. This deeper learning became particularly crucial when he and Marc Cusano, Esq. founded an independent trustee company, Northeast Private Trustees.

Through decades of law practice, we have learned that being a good trust lawyer is different from being a good trustee. Trust executives and officers understand what it means to apply theory to real-life situations.

Already, Tim has been able to apply the knowledge he acquired through earning his CTFA. The certification process bolstered his expertise in the trust, financial planning, and wealth management domains, in addition to enhancing the client relationship skills necessary for success.

Tim’s CTFA courses provided training and skills in taxation, investments, financial planning, trusts, and estates. A Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor’s expertise includes:

  • Fiduciary Principles and Applications
  • Integrated Planning and Advice (Financial and Tax)
  • Asset Management – Interaction of All Asset Types
  • Administration of Trust Accounts
  • Risk/Compliance Management
  • Ethics
  • Relationship Management

Like all of us at Borchers Trust Law, Tim subscribes to the belief that we must never stop learning. To stay sharp and up-to-date with industry standards, it’s essential to learn, grow, and expand. With his permission, we’re proud to say this old dog is still learning new tricks.

We’re thrilled to have attorneys on our team who are so dedicated to furthering their expertise to better serve our clients. Help us congratulate Tim on his certification by giving him a shout-out on LinkedIn!
